| 19.1 |
The assumption of pre-knowledge of the code of conduct |
|
| |
In estimating criminal responsibility as part of the preparation of criminal complaints, charges and the prosecution of offenders in the courts, the assumption of pre-knowledge of the code of conduct shall always apply. |
|
| |
That is, being either a citizen or a visitor to The Society, it is assumed that such a man or woman has prior knowledge and understanding of the expected good code of conduct of a man or woman. Therefore ignorance of the rules of good conduct shall never be permitted as a justifiable defence in criminal proceedings. |
