  2.5 General Principles of Discovery and Investigation  
  Article 39-Confiscation of objects   
39.1 Confiscation of objects  
  Where objects are considered contraband and/or have been involved in an alleged crime, they shall be lawfully and immediately confiscated by law enforcement officials.  
39.2 Receipt of non-contraband confiscated objects  
  Where an object is not contraband, a receipt shall be issued to the owner of the confiscated object. Upon the conclusion of any criminal/civil matters, this receipt shall be required to be reproduced to have the items returned, notwithstanding items themselves that are subject to civil proceedings, or considered a proceed or element of crime.
